ASSOULINE

Assouline Publishing welcomed Cyrene Mary to New York City in the spring of 2008, where she quickly established herself as a meticulous and collaborative force in the editorial world. Overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, she worked on two seasons of catalogs, three lifestyle books (Geoffrey Beene, American Hotel Stories, Gypset Style), four Ultimate Collection books (Barbie, Oscar Niemeyer, Veruschka, and Impossible Collection: Art), as well as Rajasthan and High Society.

For American Hotel Stories, she hired talented watercolor illustrator April Louzek Feldman and art-directed the composition, drawing inspiration from "The New Yorker" March 1976 magazine cover by Saul Steinberg. Her collaboration skills shone through as she worked closely with Kim Hastreiter of PAPER magazine on a book tribute to Geoffrey Beene. This project required her to sort and organize thousands of images from Mr. Beene's private collection, meticulously selecting the ones that best represented his voice and legacy. Managing multiple revisions and tight deadlines, Cyrene demonstrated exceptional time management, ensuring each project was completed on schedule, including the timely distribution of the Geoffrey Beene tribute book at the CFDA Fashion Awards.
